I'm an outlaw, quick on the draw...

Local 'Rockabilly' outfit Devil Train packed out the Tunnels to launch their new album 'Tracks from Hell'; their first set of songs; aptly self-described as "Stompin Scottish Outlaw Music". From the moment the breakneck pace of opening track 'Thorn' kicks in, you know you're watching something different. Fusing elements of Bluegrass and Country with good old fashioned North-East attitude, these boys have created their own sound -unique- but, with obvious references to the music they love. After introducing new fiddle player Carmen they launch into their new single 'Police Chief Superintendent'; an Aberdonian outlaw anthem to rival Johnny Cash. 'Lazy Crazy Country Boy' sounds like a happy Bob Dylan jamming with Hayseed Dixie. It's easy to draw comparisons, but the truth is, there's not anything else like this on the Aberdeen scene. I've never seen another band with the nerve to sing about the sea fog (Haar Haar). This is stompin country music at it's best.

"The band produced a mixture of country/folk music whilst dressed as pirates, which has to be rated highly in anyone's book. Had a great rapport with the crowd and thorougly entertained" 4/5
